the young woman who once was a part of, and now feeling betrayed by Star Fox, flying as Star Wolf's fourth pilot. She's recently been training her psychokenetic powers. There is a small bounty on her head for S$800 for aiding Star Wolf.
There is something I am dying to point out to the people who will rage in here shouting "OMG U RUINED KRYSTAL".
I do not hate Krystal. I have no intention to "ruin" her, and if you have any sense of human (or in this case, vulpine) emotion you'd see her joining Star Wolf, often an ally to Star Fox, wasn't so unusual or horribly out of character as you might think it is. She's NOT a totally heartless bitch, she's still the old Krystal; incredibly headstrong. Remember when she first met Fox, and didn't even say "hello" before she tore her staff out of his hands and started blasting Andross? That's the Krystal, the very first Krystal, that this one is, and you will find there are more reasons for her sticking with Star Wolf that will immensely aid the plot. She's NOT, by any means, a "bad guy".
As far as Fox/Krystal goes, even if I LOVED the relationship I'd still tear it apart. Why? It was developed in WAY too short of a time; there was no substance to it other than sappy goo-goo looks and whining over each other's well being (and disregarding everyone else's). When they're together, there's hardly a way of developing it more; there needs to be a falling out before they can show anything close to a decent video game relationship.
If it makes you feel better, I'm not pairing her with Panther, Falco, or pretty much anyone else. I want to make her far more independant than she's been.
With that said, this is obviously a more detailed version of her "Kursed" outfit, except I added a few things to it to make it look less "space whore" and more "kickass bounty hunter", being the belts alongside her top and the camo print. I know the camo isn't hugely Krystal-ish, but tight black pants weren't doing much eliminating the "space whore" look and I'm sure baggy pants are a lot less Krystal-ish than these, so...yeah. I'm thinking I shouldn't have made the pants so low-cut but I wanted to make her tatoos (which everyone forgot about for some reason) more visible.
Oh yeah, and she gets her staff back and uses it for like, fighting and stuff. Yay It is kind of a bitch to draw, though.
I know this seems odd, but she gives of the impression of my mother, hard-assed, kick-your-teeth-in-if you-touch me look but with the hint of her kindness still in her eyes. Her anthority, (humanity) if you will.
truly, truly i appreciate your words. no more could have been said to reason a split between Fox and Krystal's relationship.
it would seem an awful desperate attempt by the creators of StarFox itself to simply just "give" Fox a companion, and lest alone a teammate. It seems rather rash and strange to all-of-a-sudden include a woman to a hero's story. i can see if she's constantly in danger and needs saving, like Princess Peach, but she hold's a high morale and thus preserves also Mario's morale by remaining strong in all that she endures, as well as not softening Mario's character to some lovesick puppy. as has Fox already become.
or has he?
well, Krystal probably won't be needing any saving from StarFox. but if a scenario did arise where she did, Fox would most likely be the only one who's willing and capable of saving her, because StarFox hands would be tied, and to emotionally compelled to listen to anyone else except his "heart".
strong-willed she should be, less dependent on Fox or any other character. very much like Samus. (I see it's a Nintendo trend for the ladies )
and don't mention the relationship between Link and Zelda. the reason we love their bond and why it's so strong is because of their ability to sustain the relationship they already have, instead of falling subject to each other's emotions - as this commonly happens in real life. which is why real life sucks and stories like these give us hope.
To be honest I like drawing long flowy hair better and it's easier for me xD Plus she's the only girl in Star Fox with longish hair. (Fay doesn't quite count; when I draw her, her ears double as hair; hard to explain until I submit a picture -.-)
I did consider giving her shorter hair, and retaining the purple colour, though.

But I prefer her hair from Star Fox Adventures
It was cool and suited her space chick look
Short hair suits her
Since long hair familiarises her with the traditional filler woman, which she isn't

Though I guess they did come out with Goodbye, Beloved Falco, but it was fairly short...
